On many university campuses across the country, Greek Week brings together fraternities and sororities in a week-long celebration. Through a series of events in service and brotherhood/sisterhood, individual chapters are grouped into teams that compete to become Greek Week champions.
While the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has not yet experienced a Greek Week of this nature, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to facilitate the selection of a Greek Week Steering Committee that may work to create a successful Greek Week 2010 event. To be held in the spring semester, this event will encourage a positive Greek image, promote unity among the Greek community, and provide a series of exciting events for brothers and sisters of the Carolina Greek community to enjoy. A Director or Co-Directors will be selected by application and interview to lead the Steering Committee, which will consist of a number of individual positions, whose responsibilities will be determined with the input of the Director/Co-Directors. With the leadership of dynamic and dedicated members of the Greek community, it is the hope of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life that Greek Week will become a successful and exciting tradition on Carolina’s campus.
